In this qualitative study among older Slovenian bridge players, we explored how this thinking sport relates to brain health and wellbeing. The findings confirm a well-established idea in the literature: regular cognitive engagement is one of the strongest protective factors against decline.
The study shows more. Playing bridge gives players a daily rhythm, social ties and a sense of achievement - three areas that are often the first to contract in older age.
